Project Description
The mission for JBHM was to develop a design that melded the character of the City of Clinton with the natural setting of the property and the adjoining Nature Center. The facility includes the traditional adult reference stacks, staff offices, reference desk, work areas, reading areas, children’s stacks and a special children’s story time area. The facility also includes a conference room, small study rooms, study carrels and a genealogy room. A large meeting room with kitchenette is located in such a way that it can be available to the public even after hours.
The building was sited to minimize the removal of trees especially hard woods. The new 26,000 facility provides more than enough space to house the library’s collection and has ample space for future acquisitions.
