Laurel Middle School

Laurel, MS

Project Description

Laurel Middle School was designed on a compact site of 7.75 acres and the building design consists of 108,000 square feet. The school will consist of an administration area, a state of the art library and computer lab, a full science lab, many art classrooms, a music/drama facility, a band/strings area,
a dance/cheerleader area, a gymnatorium that will include PE classrooms, a basketball court, football locker rooms, a weight room and a cafeteria. The design also includes a paver tile courtyard that students can utilize during their lunch period. This site was chosen because it allows the district to create a major bus loop that will include and serve two other school sites, the bus loop also encloses a stepped terrace parking lot for the staff. The school will house 700 plus students when completed. The exterior building design is reminisce of the other historical buildings in the Laurel School District area.
