Airbus Helicopters

Columbus, MS

Project Description

Airbus, formerly EADS American Eurocopter.

The board of Directors of the Golden Triangle Airport and the Lowndes County Supervisors chose JBHM to design American Eurocopter Mississippi, one of the state’s newest industries, that is located at Golden Triangle Regional Airport. Eurocopter is a wholly owned subsidiary of EADS, one of the world’s leaders in aerospace and defense. Its US subsidiary is American Eurocopter. The facility is comprised of administrative space, manufacturing and assembly area, and special requirements, which include overhead cranes and paint booths.
In response to American Eurocopter’s successful bid for the US Army’s Light Utility Helicopter, JBHM was chosen to build Phase 2. This new 250,000 square foot facility will include administrative space, assembly and support shops, a warehouse, flight hanger and aircraft paint facilities.

The result of a close deliberate partnership between client, architect, and engineers. Twelve weeks from a blank page to detailed construction documents. Two hundred seventy days to construct 217,000 sq ft of production, office, and warehouse space. On budget, on time with less than 0.8% errors and omissions is not achieved without exemplary cooperative effort. Thanks for a great job.
Bruce Riekels, Former Senior Director of Facilities, American Eurocopter
