Adelphia Communications

Pittsburgh, PA

Project Description

Copeland Johns, a Mississippi contractor, chose JBHM to provide architectural services for Adelphia Communications in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Adelphia chose to be located in Pittsburgh’s Technology Park, which is located on the foundation of an old steel mill. The history of the area lies underneath the future of the city — high tech businesses.
JBHM chose to use glass, aluminum, steel in design palette to bridge the past, present and future. The building utilizes two different tones of highly reflective glass.  The facility is a high tech service farm building with office space. The building is designed to collapse on itself and still maintain server connectivity to their clients. Located next to major bridge, JBHM positioned the building to utilize the bridge for crossing the river with high-speed fiber.
