For the first time in 23 years, the City of Pascagoula will have its very own performing arts center. Construction on the Pascagoula Performing Arts Center continues with a grand opening set for January.
After breaking ground in May 2018, the Pascagoula Performing Arts Center is nearing completion. Pascagoula-Gautier Superintendent Wayne Rodolfich said, “It’s going to be one of the great boosters of this community, of this county. It’s going to be one of the most ambitious architecture endeavors within our community and we’re real excited about it.”
Now, while the school district did pay for this project, Rodolfich expects the performing arts center to be used by more than just schools. “Let’s say Chevron or Ingalls wants to have a shareholders meeting and it’s going to have a full projection system just like a movie theater. It’s going to be a really cool spot with great aesthetics for people to come enjoy.”
Rodolfich says that the school district is eyeing a grand opening in early January with the hope of hosting events shortly after.
