First Baptist Columbus MAC

First Baptist Church Columbus Ministry / Activity Center is Phase I of a master plan developed by JBHM. The initial phase is approximately 24,880 square feet and consists of a large commons/entry area, fellowship, kitchen, multipurpose, and gathering space. The fellowship hall is designed for 300 people in family style setting and can be subdivided into six seminar rooms. The full-service kitchen is placed to serve fellowship and the multipurpose area. The Youth/Gathering area has conversation/seating areas as well as activities such as foosball, ping pong, and pool table. The multipurpose area will accommodate approximately 700 people and can be used for worship services, volleyball, basketball, concerts, and other activities. Flexible stage platforms are included to accommodate up to 30 for choir and concerts, praise band, or drama. Audio visual and sound equipment is available in the multipurpose, fellowship, gathering space, and monitors have been placed throughout the building.

The mission of the design is to minister to church members, community, and give First Baptist Church the opportunity of providing worship services, concerts, fellowship events, youth events, conferences, emergency shelter, and other outreach programs.
